Born the third son of Kyūsetsu Miwa XI, Kyūsetsu Miwa XIII's experience with pottery was so entwined with his daily life that it was the same as breathing.
This incredible piece stuns viewers with it’s overwhelming, imposing presence.

【Kyūsetsu Miwa XIII】
1951 Born in Hagi, Yamaguchi Prefecture, the third son of Kyūsetsu Miwa XI (now Jusetsu).
1975 Studied in the U.S.
1981 Returned to Japan and started production at Miwa Kiln.
2000 Exhibited at “Kazuhiko Miwa's Tea Room, REI”, Yamaguchi Prefectural Museum of Art, Yamaguchi.
2002 Exhibited at “100 Years of Contemporary Ceramic Art”, The Museum of Ceramic Art, Gifu.
2003 Exhibited at “Contemporary Ceramic Art: Harmonious Colors and Forms”, The Museum of Ceramic Art, Ibaraki, Japan.
2007 Awarded the Ceramic Society of Japan Prize.
2019 Succeeded to the name of Kyusetsu Miwa XIII.
